Tesoro Gram Spectrum TKL Keyboard Review

Introduction

The Tesoro Gram Spectrum RGB was among the very first keyboards I reviewed here, all the way back in February 2017, and the three years since have seen three other Tesoro keyboard reviews. A lot of things have changed, including my own review methodology, but Tesoro revamped their software drivers as well. They must have had more success with their TKL keyboards than expected since they decided to release a TKL version of the Gram Spectrum keyboard, and we take a look at it today to see if the platform is still competitive in 2020. Thanks again to Tesoro for sending TechPowerUp a review sample!

As with the original Gram Spectrum keyboard, which was a full-sized 104-key unit, the newer Gram Spectrum TKL comes in two color options of black or white with keycaps and a cable to match. Gone is the “RGB” from the product name with Tesoro realizing that the “Spectrum” in “Gram Spectrum” covers it already, and we do retain 16.8 M per key RGB backlighting. The TKL (tenkeyless) form factor also means we have 87 keys, and the keyboard looks to carry on Tesoro’s move towards lower profile peripherals of higher build quality as a whole. We will go through the keyboard in detail on the subsequent pages and begin with a look at the specifications in the table below.
